The Land of the Midnight Sun
Also known as The Last Frontier, Alaska is our 49th State. Like the rest of the country, Alaska also deals with distracted drivers who are too busy with their phones to focus on the road.
For the safety of their citizens, Alaska enacted strict laws that forbid driver's from using their cell phones while behind the wheel. With exceptions for navigation, verbal communication, dispatch, construction, and visual enhancement, this law charges violators with a misdemeanor. However, if they cause injury or death, the driver will be charged with a felony. What do you think? Is this law tough enough? To strict? Not strict enough? What changes, if any, would you make to this law?

I think the laws are exactly what drivers need to be safe. I think Alaska's doing the right thing.
