Why Must People Text While Driving?

Vermont is the same as any other state. Their are distracted drivers and a lot of it is caused by texting or being on the phone at all. Why must people be on the phone constantly while driving? why can't it wait until you get to the destination that your are going to? 5,474 people die each year form accidents caused by distracted driving and 3,600 of those people were killed in an accident caused by the use of a cell phone.

An 18 year old girl named Emma Veira from Vermont hit a 52 year old woman walking her dog due to texting and driving. The woman was in critical condition and the dog ended up dying. Emma still denies that she was texting but police looked up her text messages and proved that she was texting at the time she struct the woman. Emma could now serve up to 15 years in jail. If this girl wasn't texting, none of this would of happened. Don't use your cell phone while driving.
