Turn Of Texting

In Vermont they have this program, run by police officers, to teach driver about the dangers of driving while texting. They program goes along with drivers ed, they sit and a class room for half and hour and learn about how bad texting and driving is. Then they go out and have a hands on experience of how bad it is.
There is a course made up of cones, trying to replicate what a real road would be like. The people in the course drive a golf cart, through the course of cones. They are timed and marked if they make any errors. Errors include hitting a cone, or changing gears. Then once they complete the course the police officer has them drive through the course again this time texting there name and address to the officer.

The course is very effective, in teaching kids to not do it. Once they see how hard it is to do both, they pledge to not text and drive.
